Forming our constructed environment is of key importance for building liveable, smart cities. The national inventories/registers operated and developed by the Lechner Knowledge Center, contain a large amount of spatial data that can be used efficiently in spatial planning, regional devlopment, city planning and construction related decision preparation  and monitoring activities alike. The further development of the National land development and management information system (TEIR), and the National Building Register (OÉNY)  will provide state of the art online spatial data services and user interfaces for those performing such activities, hence spreading the „smart design” approach in Hungary.
